Commercial and retail projects are quite different from the other categories mentioned. While site furnishings and theming are important in streetscapes, the theming is often more specialized and detailed in the commercial and retail projects. The landscape elements are often significant architectural features.  

Some important factors relative to this category of design would be security, accessibility, and visibility of storefronts, access to loading docks or other delivery vehicles and how they may affect pedestrian traffic flow. Accessibility issues have played a larger roll over the recent years. As existing establishments renovate or otherwise improve their existing properties accessibility improvements are almost always part of the necessary improvements. Steve Cook is familiar with the ADA requirements and codes. Having someone who understands the various ADA codes, as well as someone who understands the intricacies of the commercial and retail projects can be an essential part of your design team.
